Winter’s Gifts: WISH

Imagine a wintertime concert bathed in the soft glow of candlelight: where the air is crisp with anticipation and "wishful" music fills the space like a gentle snowfall.

Join us for Winter's Gifts: WISH—the 20th-anniversary celebration of The Choral Project and the San José Chamber Orchestra. The concert features pieces that highlight a deep, universal human longing for peace and love. The program also highlights music that honors different faith traditions from the wonderfully diverse communities in the Bay Area, reminding us of our humanity. Repertoire includes two world premieres by Artistic Director Daniel Hughes, and music by Gustav Holst, Z. Randall Stroope, and Robert Seeley. Paul Halley’s incredible “Ubi Caritas”—which combines the original “ubi caritas” plainchant melody over a Nigerian song—will ecstatically finish the evening’s musical offerings.

The 20th annual wintertime concert is co-presented by The Choral Project and the San José Chamber Orchestra.
